red clay exposed like raw flesh
ripped open by man

Perspective

You've heard that old story?
The one about the donkey
stuck, indecisive, between two bales of hay?
So simple to see the solution,
when you are not the one
slap dab in the middle
pulled in two opposite directions
at once.

Floundering

adrift on the ebbing tide
carried by currents of event
not knowing how i got here
not knowing where i am going
feelings of isolation threaten to drown me
but the beacon of your love
shines out to me, envelopes me
warms me to my soul and
lets me know that safe harbor is at hand

I know it's the right choice, but

Little Molly

Little Molly, do not hide
Though the storm blows wild outside
You are inside, safe and warm
God will keep you safe from harm

Little Molly, please don't cry
Though storm clouds blow dark in the sky
God will watch and keep you safe
Do not worry, litte waif

Soon the storms will blow on through
The skies will once again be blue
Once again the sun will shine
Little Molly, you'll be fine
