I wrote this during the summer. A kwansaba is a form of poetry that has some rather strict rules. It has seven lines, each line with seven word. The words in the poem are limited to seven letters unless the word is a proper noun. I like this form.
Drought
On and on, the drought never ends
Each day we wait in anxious hope
As the grass withers turning sickly brown
Ponds and lakes dry up and vanish
Every now and then the sky darkens
A few drops of rain might fall
But never enough to bring real relief
