the world would be
a quieter place
less yelling
less laughing
less orders barked out
less songs badly sung

there is enough
silence in the world
already as it is

so i am here
you can hear
barbaric yawps
murmured prayers
whispered secrets
belly laughs

the sounds that break
the silence cocoon
